Here’s an update on the Guy Kawasaki streaming FAIL. Andrew Mutch from Edinburgh University was kind enough to comment on my post about the issues they experienced with the streaming of Guy Kawasaki’s keynote talk at the Engage | Invest | Exploit 2009 event this week.

He explained that the difficulties were upstream of the university’s own network within the Joint Academic Network.

He adds that for those who were unable to catch the live stream there is now a temporary feed available, and that Guy’s Edinburgh talk will soon be up on YouTube et al.

I had an issue with getting the new stream to load directly from the link but had success with opening mms://granton.ucs.ed.ac.uk/informatics/2009/kawasaki_keynote.wmv directly through VLC’s File > Open Network option.

It has to be said that the quality of the video and audio is excellent, and that the picture-in-picture of Mr Kawasaki’s presentation slides is a really nice touch.
